Day Break, or, This Blog is Born

Image of the day and Description: I saw this sticker on the back of a car a little while ago and thought y'know what, me too

Sometimes life itself feels relentless, and I know those are awfully pessimistic words to start off a blog with but stay with me here. All too often I hear "it gets better than this".

Though in response to that I do have to say that all too often I wander around bummed out by the fact that really, in life and in what is also a statement that poses an answer to the famous question posed by the strokes, this is it. (See song by the Strokes - Is This It?)

It makes me feel a little weird knowing that this blog is most likely the biggest source of notoriety I'll ever have in life. Not that this is a blog I'm ashamed of having or anything like that, but looking at something and knowing it's the most I'll ever amount to is a weird feeling for sure.

I had my mom ask me yesterday what I wanted to do in life, it kind of sucked to only be able to squibble out "I'm not really sure".

When asked further I went onto say I was starting a blog, and when asked what the blog would be about, I panicked and sputtered out "um I guess a dive into alternative spirituality, as opposed to organized religion, y'know" to which she said "since when are you an expert on the subject". I guess she has a point, and she does generally mean well.

Honestly I really didn't know how to answer that the blog would be about whatever I wanted it to be about on any given day

Well, anyway, here goes nothing, this blog started as a response to a bunch of post-it type notes that I saw around town, all of which had a QR code on them that took you to a site with the ramblings of a man who claimed to have met and had multiple conversations with Jesus himself.

Now, as for me, that had me a little something like this:

Basically seeing that I took it upon myself to completely redo the entire idea of that blog, but in the style of a huge meme basically. I would create my own website, titled "About the Images Around MY Aura"

It would lead to this blog, where every once in a while I would take images that I'd found or images that I created and write a short piece about what they meant to me, or why I resonated with them. So that in the end, at least I'd have something to show for everything I've done in my life.

Which hey, digital footprint definitely means something these days right? HA sure, whatever makes you sleep at night, me.

America the Divided: Why it Matters that Charlie Kirk is Dead

Ok, I don't usually dive into politics because I don’t consider myself hugely qualified to do so, but I feel that recent events demand a...
